Cranberry Township Comprehensive Plan

Welcome to the online home of Cranberry Township’s new Comprehensive Plan! The Plan will chart a course for Cranberry’s growth and development over the next twenty years. The planning process began in Fall 2015 and will be complete in Fall 2016.

Over course of the year, local officials and volunteers will be working to create a new comprehensive plan with your input. The plan will consider topics including housing, transportation and circulation, land use, community facilities, natural and historic preservation, and economic development. Your ideas and opinions on these subjects are needed in order to make the plan as useful as possible and to ensure it accurately reflects the views of Cranberry’s citizens.

Ultimately, the plan will make a series of recommendations that will serve to guide elected officials as they make decisions about the future of Cranberry Township. In addition to providing good information on which to base decisions, the comprehensive plan is also necessary for the Township to secure certain grant funding, and it helps protect the Township against legal challenges to decisions that are made in accordance with the plan. By providing your opinion in the ways outlined below, you are helping your tax dollars go farther.

What should you do?

There are number of ways for you to get involved:

  2. Remind your friends and neighbors to complete the Community Survey.
  3. Participate in one of two public open houses about the plan. These will likely be in March and August of 2016. Check back here for more information in the early spring.
  4. Join a task force. Each of the topics listed above will be explored in-depth by the plan Steering Committee. If you are particularly concerned about any of the plan topics and would like to join the discussion about it, contact the township, let a Steering Committee member know, or send an email to chris@chris-francis.com. These in-depth discussions will mostly happen between February and May of 2016.
