Cranberry Township is seeking a qualified road crew worker for full time employment. The ideal candidate will have experience in heavy duty diesel truck and equipment operation, snow plowing, and general truck maintenance. Additional requirements include the possession of a current PA Driver’s License, have a clean driving record, and test free of drug use. Position Title: Road Crew Worker

I. DESCRIPTION
This position involves and requires a wide variety of work involving but not limited to: the maintenance of Cranberry Township property and street system, operating heavy equipment, operating hand tools, plowing snow, equipment repair and maintenance, traffic control (flagging), crushing gravel in an open pit mine, manual labor, paving and street patching, or any other duties and assignments as directed by the immediate supervisor, Township Manager, or Board of Supervisors.
This position reports to the Roadmaster, Assistant Roadmaster, or Township Manager.
II. GENERAL JOB RELATED REQUIREMENTS
• Will occasionally be required to work overtime on nights and/or weekends as needed or directed.
• Regular and predictable attendance is required. Must be reliable about job attendance, but should also be flexible about the schedule if the need to change it arises.
• Must work cooperatively with others.
• Must relate to Township citizens and other Township employees in a professional, courteous and respectful manner.
III. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties are normal for this job. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and/or assigned by the Roadmaster, Assistant Roadmaster, Township Manager, or Board of Supervisors.
• Performs manual labor.
• Uses a variety of powered and manual tools.
• Operate Township heavy equipment and vehicles.
• Paving, patching, tar and chipping streets and related work.
• Snow plowing.
• Routine and preventative maintenance of Township vehicles and equipment.
• Mowing grass and related work.
• Is safety oriented and utilizes proper PPE and clothing when necessary.
• Any additional duties as needed or assigned.
IV. (ADA) MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OR STANDARDS REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Physical & Mental Requirements: The person in this position must be able to work at a fast pace, must be able to deal with the requests of the Roadmaster and his assistant, Township Manager, staff, and members of the public, regarding all major and minor issues arising in the Township in a pleasant manner. The employee must be able to deal with emergency situations in a calm and intelligent manner. The employee must be able to work in a timely manner with frequent interruptions. Extended work hours may be required during certain time periods or significant weather related events. Specifically, the person in this position must:
• Individual must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Individual must be able to follow written and oral directions.
• Individual must possess routine knowledge of vehicle and heavy equipment operation and maintenance methods.
• Individual must be able to work outdoors for extended periods of time in a variety of weather conditions.

• Individual must be able to operate the Township’s small tools and equipment.
• Individual must be able to climb ladders.
• Individual must be part of the PSATS CDL Random Drug Testing Program.

VIII. REQUIRED LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES
• Valid state issued driver license for the appropriate class of vehicle assigned to operate.
• M.S.H.A. mine safety (training provided by the Township).
• C.P.R. and basic first aid (training provided by the Township).
